Before enrolling, a student must
Complete the PSM Certificate program requirements,
Or...Have three years direct experience in safety and health
Or...Have a recognized professional designation or degree
ADVANCED DISASTER PLANNING (ASM)
This course will address the three steps necessary to plan
for, respond to and recover from a disaster. You will be exposed to the
current thinking and the latest strategy in planning for a disaster.
Included is the purpose of a disaster plan, evacuation plans, medical
emergencies and fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and floods, and
planning for bomb threats.
BEHAVIOR BASED SAFETY (ASM)
This course will explain the basic scientific model behind behavior-based
safety (BBS) and the relationship to real world situations. Students will
be able to determine if BBS has a place in their facility, and an
understanding of its risks as well as its benefits. Topics include:
- Psychology of BBS
- Measuring safety performance
- How BBS works
- Implementation and Deployment
- Potential pitfalls
CORPORATE FLEET SAFETY (ASM)
Fleet Safety Management: The management of all vehicles, drivers, and
motor vehicle activities within an organization. Class covers:
- Prevention of accidents
- Maximize efficiencies
- Regulations and basic
understanding of the regulatory agencies that govern fleets
ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION COMPLIANCE (ASM)
This course will provide an overview of the major federal environmental
laws and regulations currently in force. It will provide compliance
mechanisms and strategies that will assist your company in environmental
liability avoidance. Methodologies of liability avoidance for safety
professionals who have recently acquired environmental responsibilities.
HAZARDOUS WASTE OPERATIONS (ASM)
Geared toward those who handle hazardous materials, this class will help
employers comply with these complicated Federal regulations. Recently,
many employers have found that their current safety training for hazardous
materials handlers has been far short of what is required, and there is a
need to raise their level of training to comply with these regulations.
INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE (ASM)
This course provides an overview of the elements involved within the field
of Industrial Hygiene. The course will concentrate on hazard recognition,
evaluation, and control. Practical hands-on case studies will be utilized
in developing sampling strategy, sampling methods and use of control
measures. A basic review of industrial hygiene equipment and current
regulatory requirements will be addressed.
MASTERING LEADERSHIP SKILLS (8-HR)
Class covers self-directed learning process in which participants gain
insight in to their behavior preferences, leadership styles, strengths and
weaknesses. Mastering Leadership Skills continued:
- Learn and practice leadership

- Action plan that participants
implement once they return to their jobs
MASTERING WORKERS COMPENSATION (ASM)
Participants will discover how the ultimate cost of Worker’s Compensation
Insurance is determined by the type of plan, the employer’s short and
long-term loss experience, and the care with which the organization audits
the computation of premium. Addressed will be the impact of experience
modification, retrospective rating plans, payroll classification and audit
tips, identification of problem claims, return to work strategies, and
other opportunities to produce measurable reductions in insurance costs.
OSHA AUDITS & INSPECTIONS (ASM)
It is imperative that your company be prepared to properly handle OSHA
inspections and audits. This course prepares management and supervisors in
order to turn the dreaded inspection into an opportunity to fairly present
your safety and health program.
POLICY DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION (ASM)
Safety policy and programs are designed to protect employees form undue
exposure to chemical, physical, and other health hazards of the workplace
environment. Management and their employees share the responsibilities for
developing a well-planned, well-written, effective occupational safety ad
health program. Such a program, with proper implementation, demonstrates
commitment and good management of resources.
TRAFFIC MISHAP INVESTIGATION (ASM)
This course is designed to meet the needs of fleet managers, risk managers
and other safety professionals whose responsibilities in investigating
traffic incidents for their company. This course covers a step-by-step
method of gathering information, investigating, review in accident data,
crash photography, and other information to arrive at a root cause.
TRANSPORTATION REGULATION COMPLIANCE (ASM)
This course covers the regulations, laws and standards that affect your
business. Topics include USDOT 29 CFR and methods for preparing, handling
and responding to an audit. Whether your business has commercial vehicles
designated to carry passengers, this is an in-depth study of rules and
regulations.
VIOLENCE/WORKPLACE (ASM)
As violence in the workplace increases employers and employees must take
preventative measures to create a safe work environment. Without an
aggressive security and safety program designed to minimize violence in
the workplace, employers will be faced with increasing absenteeism and
tardiness, declining productivity, a less reliable work force and
increased costs of operation.One time
registration fee of $100.00 and tuition per course is $125.00 for those
enrolled. |
