Your donations help support the
programs below. If you want your donation to support a specific
program you will be able to choose one at the end of the donation
process.
General Fund: The Safety Council is 501C3
non-profit, non –governmental self sustaining organization. Since
1967, our mission is to provide safety education that makes South
Florida a safer place to live, work and play. Your donation helps
support all of our efforts.
Behind the Wheel Driver Education: With the
rising cost of fuel and large amount of students wanting to learn to
drive we are always looking for opportunities to lower costs so that
more students will be able to participate in this program.
Motor vehicle crashes are epidemic and are the
leading cause of death among American teenagers, killing between
5,000 and 6,000 teenagers every year. The Safety Council has
vehicles at every Palm Beach County High School that offers
classroom driver’s education classes. To date, nearly 20,000
students have participated in the program. Your donation defrays the
many costs associated with this program.
Car Seat Program: Support Childsaver….
Since 1988, the Council has provided child car seats to parents and
caregivers at a very low cost. Just as importantly, the Council
trains parents on proper installation. We have a certified Child
Passenger Safety Technician on staff and participate in many
educational events throughout the community. Your donation assists
us with the purchase of child safety seats.
Mobile Eyes Program: Get Impaired Drivers
off the road…Mobile Eyes is a program that rewards $100.00 to
citizens who report impaired driving. A citizen sees what appears to
be an impaired driver, dials 9.1.1. from their cellular phone, and
if the officer makes an arrest, the caller receives $100.00 reward.
100% of these donations are utilized to maintain the reward fund.
The Traffic Safety Committee hosts this program and needs your vital
support to help keep our County safe.
Motorcycle Rider Courses: Beginning in July
2008, all people that purchase a motorcycle must take have taken a
Motorcycle training course. This means safer roads for all of us! We
offer a three-day course, and include the use of the motorcycles.
Your donation offsets the many costs of this program, helping us to
keep it affordable for everyone.
